My first project using Maya consisted of creating a robot capable of executing certain tasks either around town or simply as an imaginary helper. My robot was initially supposed to look lovable and helpful but during the creative process his look evolved to one of rustic charm. Equipped with robotic clamps, his mandate is to clean and store items of value, found in the streets. The treasures are stored in his stomach receptacle. The creation and execution of this project was ambitious since it was a learning process for me. I had to conceptualise the design, the proxy and skeletal features, and add colour to the final animation. The process was long and involved but the end result was worth the effort.
